DISCOVER-AQ 2011 P3-B Aircraft Forward/Nadir Videos

• The filename format is related to the start time of the video. The filename of the next file in chronological order indicates the approximate end time of the file preceding it. An exception occurs when video recording was required to be halted while the aircraft was near or directly over the Edgewood ground site. Please see the table below that indicates the times when video recording was suspended.


• The filenames and number of files for the forward and nadir video differ due to the difference in the respective video resolutions and the video software recording algorithm. The recording software records files in ~ 50 mb sizes, therefore nadir files will be shorter in duration owing to the higher resolution and more complex images versus the forward camera operated at a lower resolution with less complex scenery.


• QuickTime (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/) or RealPlayer (http://www.real.com/) are the preferred software for viewing the archived *.AVI files.
  
  Windows Media Player: If the filename and UTC information are obscured when viewing the video, this can be corrected by changing the default Skin (see below):
  
  
  1. Click on "Switch to Library" icon.
  2. Select "Skin chooser" from the View Menu (if "menu bar" is NOT visible, press Ctrl-M or Right-Click on navigation bar and select “Show menu bar”).
  3. Select "Corporate" and press "Apply Skin".
