The following daily average vertical column abundances were retrieved from solar absorption spectra measured by the Bruker Interferometer, a FTIR spectrometer, in Bremen. The retrieval of the column abundances was performed by the GFIT algorithm, which used temperature profiles from sondes launched daily in Ny-Aalesund, and an initial set of vmr profiles derived from MkIV balloon measurements (G. Toon, JPL), which were then stretched/compressed to account for day-to-day variations in the tropopause altitude and subsidence. The errors tabulated in the main part of the data file, determined from the quality of the spectral fits, represent the 1-sigma measurement precisions. These errors are appropriate for comparing columns measured on different days. For most gases, the main systematic errors arise from uncertainties in the assumed vmr profiles shapes, and from uncertainties in the spectroscopic parameters (of both the target gas and interfering gases). Note that hour is allowed to exceed 24.0 in order to avoid introducing an apparent time discontinuity between observations made at 3:59 pm local time and 4:01 pm local time on the same day (Pacific Time is 8 hours behind UT). The true UT hour can be obtained simply by amod(hour,24.).
