SPECIAL PLANNED OBSERVATIONS (NEXT 24-HOURS): Conduct comparison experiment with R/V Discoverer at 08:00 hrs local, then finish off fourth productivity station. PAST 24-HR OPERATIONS SUMMARY: Completed trans T-4 and commenced Trans P-3 at 00:30 local Hobart time. Deployed free floating sediment trap at 05:00 hrs local. The MIDOC (Multiple opening and closing net) was hauled on deck at 03:00 hrs with a good catch of salpa and pyrasoma. OTHER COMMENTS: R/V Discoverer can be seen 1 km away and looks a lot steadier in the water than us.
