SURFACE DATA: Generally good. 


SOUNDING - PROFILER COMPARISON:

RASS parallel to and warmer (1.0 deg.) than sonde.

Comparison of low and high mode profiler wind speed and direction 
to that of CLASS sounding.

12/06 03Z (0200): Speed: Within 2 m/s above 500m (high mode only).
		  Low mode speed only within 2-4 m/s near 1200m.
		  Direction: Poor - within 40-50 deg. above 500m.
12/06 06Z (0500): Speed: Within 2-4 m/s above 500m (low mode); above 1200m
		  (high mode). Poor elsewhere.
		  Direction: within 20-40 deg. above 500m.
12/06 09Z (0800): Speed: Generally poor agreement.
		  Direction: within 20 deg. above 2km only (high mode).
                  Otherwise poor agreement.
12/06 12Z (1100): Speed: Within 2-6 m/s above 500m (both modes).
		  Direction: within 20 deg. above 2km only (high mode).
		  Otherwise poor agreement.


PROFILER DATA:

Low mode: typically to 2.0 to 3.0 km. 
High mode: typically to 3.2 to 5.5 km. 
RASS: profiles today: 500-1000m.

SOUNDING COMMENTS:

12/05 09Z (0800): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch (in launcher);
                  Some questionable oscillation in the wind data.
12/05 12Z (1059): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch; Some 
		  questionable oscillation in the wind data;
		  Some noisy PTU data (will cleanup in post processing).
12/05 15Z (1359): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch,
                  otherwise good sounding.
12/05 18Z (1657): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch,
                  otherwise good sounding.
12/05 21Z (1957): Good sounding. Data recorded on sonde descent - will 
		  cleanup in post processing.
12/06 00Z (2300): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch,
                  otherwise, good sounding.
12/06 03Z (0200): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch,
                  otherwise, good sounding.
12/06 06Z (0500): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch,
                  otherwise, good sounding.
12/06 09Z (0800): Good sounding.
12/06 12Z (1100): Good sounding (noise in PTU data at 900mb which will
		  cleanup in post processing).

All sensors look good. 


SOUNDING - PROFILER WIND COMPARISON:

RASS - Sounding temperature comparison is good.

Comparison of low and high mode profiler wind speed and direction 
to that of CLASS sounding.

12/05 18Z (1705): Speed within 2-4 m/s above 800m (both modes).
		  Direction: within 20 deg above 800m (both modes),
		  some spurious profiler data above 3km.
12/06 00Z (2255): Speed within 2-4 m/s (both modes).
		  Direction: within 20 deg. throughout (both modes).
12/06 06Z (0500): Speed within 2-4 m/s above 800m (both modes).
		  Direction: within 20 deg above 500m.
12/06 12Z (1120): Speed within 2-4 m/s overall (both modes).
		  Direction: within 20 deg above 700m.


PROFILER DATA:

Low mode: 1.0 to 4.0 km. 
High mode: 2.0 to 4.5 km.
RASS: profiles generally 500-800 m.

SOUNDING COMMENTS:

12/05 18Z (1705): Some questionable oscillation in the wind data. 
		  Otherwise good data.
12/06 00Z (2255): Some sensor arm heating at launch. Otherwise good data.
12/06 06Z (0500): Sensor arm heating at launch balloon was stuck in 
		  launcher. Bad low level wind data.
12/06 12Z (1120): Sensor arm heating at launch balloon was stuck in 
                  launcher. Bad low level wind data.
NOTE: Bad low level wind data in last two soundings due to sonde in
launcher for approx. 4 minutes before release. Will address in post
processing.
