SURFACE DATA: Generally good. 


SOUNDING - PROFILER COMPARISON:

RASS parallel to and warmer (1.0 deg.) than sonde.

Comparison of low and high mode profiler wind speed and direction 
to that of CLASS sounding.

12/08 09Z (0800): Speed: Within 2-4 m/s throughout.
		  Direction: within 10-20 deg. throughout (both modes).
12/08 12Z (1101): Speed: Within 2-3 m/s above 1000m (low mode).
		  Only within 4-6 m/s in high mode.
		  Direction: within 10-20 deg. throughout (both modes).
12/08 15Z (1358): Speed: within 2-4 m/s abve 1500m.
		  Direction: within 10-20 deg. throughout (both modes).
12/08 18Z (1656): Speed: Profilers 4-8 m/s LOW thropughout (both modes).
		  Direction: within 10-20 deg. throughout (both modes).


PROFILER DATA:

Low mode: typically to 2.0 to 4.0 km. 
High mode: typically to 2.0 to 6.0 km. 
RASS: profiles today: 500-1000m.

SOUNDING COMMENTS:

12/07 15Z (1359): Good sounding.
12/07 18Z (1653): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch; Some noise in
		  PTU data (will cleanup in post processing); A few gaps
		  (short) in the wind data.
12/07 21Z (1955): Some noise in the PTU data (will cleanup in post
		  processing). Some missing wind data above 200mb.
12/08 00Z (2300): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch,
                  otherwise, good sounding.
12/08 03Z (0200): Sonde T,Td values high prior to launch,
                  otherwise, good sounding.
12/08 06Z (0500): Good sounding.
12/08 09Z (0800): Good sounding.
12/08 12Z (1101): Good sounding.
12/08 15Z (1358): Good sounding.
12/08 18Z (1656): Good sounding. Some questionable near surface wind.

All sensors look good. 


SOUNDING - PROFILER WIND COMPARISON:

RASS - Sounding temperature comparison is good.

Comparison of low and high mode profiler wind speed and direction 
to that of CLASS sounding.

12/07 18Z (1658): Speed within 2 m/s above 1000m (both modes).
		  Profiler speed below looks more reasonable than sonde.
		  Direction: within 10-20 deg above 1500m (both modes).
12/08 00Z (2259): Speed within 1-2 m/s throughout (both modes).
		  Direction: within 10-20 deg. above 500m (both modes).
12/08 06Z (0500): Speed within 2 m/s throughout (both modes).
		  Direction: within 10-20 deg except between 500 and 1000m
		  where they differ by 50 deg or more.
12/08 12Z (1100): Speed within 2 m/s overall (both modes).
		  Direction: within 10-20 deg throughout.


PROFILER DATA:

Low mode: 2.0 to 4.0 km. 
High mode: 2.5 to 5.0 km.
RASS: profiles generally 800-1400 m.

SOUNDING COMMENTS:

12/07 18Z (1658): Good sounding.
12/08 00Z (2259): Sensor heating at launch. Some missing wind data 
		  below 950mb. Otherwise good data.
12/08 06Z (0500): Sensor arm heating at launch. Questionable wind below
		  900mb. Otherwise, good sounding.
12/08 12Z (1100): Questionable wind below 900mb. Otherwise, good sounding.
