Data Set Description:

    Vertical wind profile plots of the NCAR/Integrated Sounding
    System (ISS) upper air data collected at Cape Grim during
    the ACE-1 Intensive Operations, via the NCAR/Atmospheric
    Technology Division (ATD), then plotted and converted to
    GIF image format.

    These images consist 0.25 km vertical resolution wind
    profiles taken every 30-min. The data used in these plots
    are PRELIMINARY and could change significantly following
    final processing by ATD.

NOTE -These plots were created in near real-time in the field from
PRELIMINARY data and are for browse purposes only!

    Data Type: Sounding
    Observational Frequency: 30 minute

Format:
   GIF images

   The images are screen snapshots and show inoperable control buttons
   and/or logo icons from the data display software used to
   create the GIFs.

File Name Conventions:
   MMDDHHmm.gif where MM is the month, DD is the day,
   HH is the hour, and mm is the minute.
   An example would for 15 November 1995 at 12:23 is 11151223.gif
